Even though I cannot write it? I want that AU where the Batfam runs a radio station.
I was thinking up scenarios to use with the Trope Meme fills?
And I had a moment of, “What if one of the Batfam had an Edith Keeler moment?” (Only without the desperately in romantic love with someone, because reasons.)
Like, Tim with Bruce’s or Dick’s parents. Jason with Tim’s parents or himself? (Or any possible combination of the above for maximum angst?)
Bruce with Jason or Steph or Damian?
Save them and doom the future or let them die and save it.
And then there was ugly crying because no, that’s a fucking terrible idea. ;_;
After watching Rise of the Guardians again I was thinking about Tiny!Tim stalking Batman and Robin around Gotham. (And the habit he has of talking to animals and whatnot because Tim.)
A friend pointed me towards Project Blue Brain. (Which will probably be how humankind brings about our own destruction according to the science fiction books and movies I was raised on.)
And then I was like. Hmmm.
What if, say. There was something akin to this project in the DCU, only it came into contact with, say. ~Evil alien tech or even some Earthling bad guy with bad guy intentions. (Or even something like, say. Brother Eye. Something.)
I remember catching old reruns of Lost in Space when I was a kid. (There was also the 1998 movie.)
I had an idea in the shower this morning and I spent far too much time making this horrible thing. (I just wanted Ra’s as Dr. Smith and Tim as Will Robinson because reasons.)
They come across Steph and Damian later in their space adventures in some improbable manner and continue having ~crazy space adventures. (And space fighting space crime. Or something? IDK.)
Because of this and this, I’m now picturing that AU where Tim is a foodie.
He’s just like, “Dick, Dick! You need to check out this blog. It’s run by these two guys and it’s awesome! :DDDDDDDDDDDDDD
Meanwhile Jason and Dean are like, “Alright, motherfuckers. Let’s do some goddamn cooking!” >:((((((((((
And Dick is like. “Tim, I’m pretty sure these guys are psychopaths.”
“Psychopaths who know their food, Dick!” >:((((((((((((
Dick just backs away with his hands up because Tim has that crazy look in his eyes again. He’s pretty sure Jason and Dean have police records, and also, they go through salt like you wouldn’t believe.
Tim’s the guy who keeps commenting on their posts and engaging them in debate over farm vs wild caught fish and other things.
Dean’s like, “Jason’s got a ~boyfriend!”
Jason’s just like. “Shut your pie hole, Winchester. And keep an eye on your fucking risotto!” as he replies to Tim’s latest comment.
…and then more manly cooking to woo Tim with, and Tim’s like \o/ because Jason, okay. Totally awesome.
I am that kind of tired where my mind ~wanders.
At the moment it seems to have wandered in the direction of Terrible Movies I Have Loved. Specifically the little section reserved for the 1996 cinematic classic Broken Arrow, starring John Travolta and Christian Slater.

I am so very behind on Young Justice it’s not even funny? But I can’t stop myself from reading spoilers about the show because willpower, I have none.
I had brain-thoughts in the shower about things I would love to see? Like Lian being all, “I have two daddies!” at some jerkface…

Haha, I thought of Actual!Roy because the Clone!Roy was friends with the original team members and has them for support and family-ness. Actual!Roy lost, what, eight years of his life? And it has to be super awkward around him for pretty much everyone, which wouldn’t be great for anyone, really.
I don’t know, though, because Clone!Roy would be awesome too.
Ahaha, or the Roys could just form their own team, which would be awesome and hilarious. With a little makeup or costume magic they could be like, “What do you mean you saw me spying on your evil organization? I was in another city at that time, here, I have proof!” and they bring up security camera footage of one of them feeding pigeons in a park or something, IDK.
Lol, omg. Now I’m picturing Clone!Roy and Jade going off on a date (only it’s a mission because they’re weird like that) and leaving Lian with Jason because it’s a ~special mission. And then Jason’s wandering around being growly with Lian in her snuggly. (The criminals are way confused but don’t dare say anything because Red Hood.)
Oh, man, that would be awesome.
I think they would have this sort of wary respect at first? And then they would become the kind of friends who despair over their idiot teammates/husband. (And are so proud as to how one little girl has them wrapped around her little finger.)
Actual!Roy is hanging with Tim, right now. Because he doesn’t even know most of the original members, he seems pretty cool with hanging with the kids. Clone!Roy doesn’t seem to be planning on going back to the team (actually, he hasn’t been mentioned in 6 or something episodes).
Actual!Roy is a tiny baby, he’s, like, Tim’s size, and seems to have traded angst for destructive glee, and Jason would feel terribly uncomfortable mentory feelings for him, I think. Might even have to be the reasonable one. That might be a lot of fun.
But all versions of the Outlaws improve with the addition of Lian. Now I’m reminded of the Batman issue where Bruce is carting around a baby and beating up crooks. And they start telling him he’s doing it all wrong, doesn’t he know how to carry a baby? With Jason it would be even better.
Hmm. Maybe Clone!Roy goes off to do his own thing for a while?

Ahahah, oh, that would be perfect, though. Jason with his mentor-y feelings and having to be reasonable! Tim kind of smirking at him when Jason is like, “So maybe we don’t go in for major property damage this time, yeah? Also, shut up, Tim.”
Actual!Roy gets this look on his face when he hears Jason call Tim Replacement, because Issues. (He was replaced and no one noticed. Now it’s this Thing that’s always in the back of his head, and it sucks but he can’t not think about it.)
Jason’s like, “Oh, hell,” when he realizes.
He starts calling Tim by his name when they’re not out doing hero-type things - which he hated because that’s just no good. He might get attached, and there where would he be? >:((((((((((
He also starts coming up with ~secret plans to make The Light pay for what they did to Roy, but Tim’s like, “That won’t work, and also, it’s not what Roy needs right now.”
And Jason’s like >:(((((((( at Tim because what does he know? But it’s a terrible plan - worse than any Dick ever came up with, and. Stupid Roy’s out on the roof even though it’s the middle of winter and freezing and the moron didn’t take a jacket.
“Shut up, Tim,” he says and stomps off to drag Roy back inside. (Or at least bring him a damn jacket.)
Exactly! Hahaha I remember seeing that! Wasn’t it from the animated series comics? Oh, Bruce. *pets*

You know what would make me the happiest right now? That AU where Tim’s parents were always away on trips because they were Hunters.
So a while back I was working on something with fantasy elements in a modern day setting where Tim was one of Selina’s Strays?
Like there were all these little groups of people running around at night wearing ~fancy masks, but then I ran into problems. (You know. World building, plot, reasons.)
And then there was this post floating around of gorgeous masks and I was like, yes. Even more reason to want that AU I can’t write. /o\
